Thanks to this procedure, fluid accumulation in the middle ear is prevented, both the child’s hearing status is improved and the problems that may arise in the long term due to this fluid accumulation are prevented.

MThe fluid in the middle ear is pulled out by vacuum through the hole in the eardrum, which is drawn by advancing with microsurgical techniques. Then, a tube is placed with one end in the outer ear and the other end in the middle ear by means of special tools. After this procedure, there is no change in the person’s ear that can be observed from the outside. In this operation, which is performed under general anesthesia, there is no need to make an incision in the skin.

KThe ear tube usually remains in the eardrum for 6-12 months; Then it spontaneously falls into the ear canal and the hole in the eardrum where the tube is attached closes on its own.
